Miguel Roncero (born in 1986 in Toledo, Spain) joined the European Commission in 2018. Currently, he works as International Relations Officer at DG MARE, focusing on the EU Arctic policy as well as bilateral relations with the US and Canada. Previously, he led the Situational Awareness Sector at the EU’s Emergency Response Coordination Centre, in DG ECHO. Prior to joining the Commission, Mr Roncero worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna (Austria). He holds a masters degree in International Relations from Webster University (IL, US), and in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). He also pursues PhD studies on security and small states at the University of Vienna.
